What's involved in this role:

We are looking for a Sr. Maintenance Manager in Little Chute, WI.

The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities and support of facilities, utilities, and equipment, including automation, and working in collaboration with Engineering on major plant projects. This position is responsible for setting the overall goals, strategies, and objectives for the Maintenance departments and team.

This position facilitates all current and future maintenance and automation activities to ensure uninterrupted operations, while motivating and developing the managers, support leaders, maintenance mechanics and automation technicians. The Senior Maintenance Manager will also ensure the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, at the most economical cost or method, while maximizing production quantity and quality and supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the organization.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, MSDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
  • Demonstrate leadership as part of a cross-functional plant management team.
  • Implement processes to organize and complete tasks, organize people and activities to support the process flow, ability to measure process success, insight to see opportunities for synergy and integration, and the aptitude to simplify complex processes.
  • Accurately scopes out length and difficult of tasks and projects, sets objectives and goals, breaks down work into the process steps, develops schedules and assignments, anticipates and adjusts for problems or roadblocks, measures performance against goals, evaluates results.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as algebraic calculations.
  • Dedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.
  • Makes good decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement.

What you need to join our team:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required. Other engineering disciplines or education may be considered.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum ten (10) years facility/maintenance experience in food production environment required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a managerial role required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of food processing experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the dairy plant, maintenance required.
  • Strong experience with plant automation required.

Where you'll be working:

Our Little Chute, WI, plant is home to about 95 employees. This facility is a top manufacturer of IQF sticks that are supplied to the appetizer industry. Next to the plant is our well-known Simon's Specialty Cheese store, which has about 20 employees. Simon's is a Wisconsin-themed store, with everything from meats and cheese to clothing and craft spirits.
