Position Summary The Project Manager will serve in a Design engineering leadership role, providing expertise and management oversight for complex major construction project(s). Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide responsive management oversight and administration throughout all phases of professional services design engineering projects. * Ensure successful delivery of projects of significant scale and considerable complexity on time, on budget, high quality, and environmental compliance. * Provide Independent Assurance and Independent Oversight for interstate and arterial construction and related transportation facilities. * Ensure environmental, safety, and quality compliance and oversee utility coordination throughout the construction process. * Actively monitors scope, schedule & budget and prepares cost estimates as needed. * Provide project oversight, support, and technical advice and performs contractor performance evaluations. * Ensure inspection tasks are adequately covered and all project construction activities are accurately documented. * Conduct construction progress meetings to resolve construction-related issues and partnering meetings to ensure both stakeholder coordination and citizen concerns are resolved. Required Skills / Abilities * Experience with professional engineering practice with Federal, State, Transportation and County agencies and infrastructure
Education and/or Experience * Bachelor's degree in engineering, civil or mechanical preferred. * 8+ years of experience in civil infrastructure, development, and construction Certificates/Licenses * Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, or ability to obtain within 6 months. * NCEES record for multiple state licensing Physical Demands The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 2/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 1/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1/3 of the day. This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis. The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see for a distance are also necessary. |
