Elevator Operator

TheElevator Operatoris responsible for shipping & receiving meal product arriving by railcar & departing by truck in an efficient manner with respect to production, quality, sanitation andsafety.

Hourly Pay Rate: $22.98; Schedule: 5pm-5am, must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Main Accountabilities:

• Operate systems required to receive and ship product in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment within the facility.
• Know and follow all safety, environmental, and emergency procedures.
• Complete log sheets, load forms and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Understand shipping and receiving systems and product flow throughout the facility.
• Understand and follow switch engine and rail procedures.
• Understand and follow sample procedures as it relates to shipping product.
• Demonstrate knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
• Demonstrate skill in operating mobile equipment.
• Communicate policies and procedures to others as needed.
• Monitor product levels and assist in monthly inventories.
• Keep work areas and grounds clean at all times.
• Actively participate in all aspects of safety including near-miss reporting and meetings.
• Demonstrate the following core values and guiding behaviors which are expected of all employees at Bunge North America.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Oral and written communications skills.
• Understanding of basic technology of assigned area.
• Ability to take instruction and follow directions required
• Comfortable working safely in high places and with rail equipment required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions required
• Strong mechanical skills preferred
• Proficient in basic computer skills preferred
• Must have initiative and demonstrate strong customer service skills required
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised required
• Positive attitude required

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Background in agriculture desired
• Able to work overtime as needed
