Job Highlights
We are currently seeking a new team member to join the Energy & Water Science & Application team in Wilmington, DE, as part of our Material Protection Products business unit. This team focuses on the evaluation and development of microbial control technologies for the Energy & Water market segment, using advanced testing capabilities that mimic real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with scientists and research associates in a team-oriented environment to support different project work. The candidate will be expected to setup and operate in-house bioreactors for Energyapplications
- Generate data, document results, and prepare technical reports
- Perform routine laboratory duties, including but not limited to: media and buffer preparation; microbial culture preparation and maintenance; antimicrobial testing and data collection, DNA extraction and quantification, PCR and qPCR analyses
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree (in a Biological Science or Bioengineering preferred)
- Previous working experience in a microbiology laboratory is preferred. Candidates with hands-on experience operating bioreactor is highly desired
- Knowledge of basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques, familiarity with aseptic and biosafety procedures, and hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment such as single- and multi-channel pipettes, autoclave, and centrifuge are preferred
