Title: HR/Labor Relations Intern (Continuous) Salary: $23.00 / hour for undergraduate students; $33.00 / hour for graduate students Focus: The HR/Labor Relations Intern will work with Human Resources Business Partners on key initiatives and organizational success with focused support in labor relations. This role will provide an opportunity to participate in special HR or labor relations initiatives including audits, process involvement, or policy implementation. HR/Labor Relations Intern Essential Job Functions: * Observe union interactions and assist in tracking grievances, arbitrations, and disciplinary actions * Participate and support investigations related to violations, contract issues, labor laws, or workplace standards * Support HR communications regarding contract and policy updates to employees and supervisors * Assist in maintaining compliance with state and federal labor regulations * Compile HR metrics related to labor relations, turnover, grievances, or discipline trends * Support employee engagement activities, employee inquiries, communication improvements and facilitating trainings HR/Labor Relations Intern Minimum Requirements: * Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate or graduate Human Resources, Marketing, or business-related degree program. Preference given to students located within 50 miles of the assigned Olin location. * Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations. * Must be enrolled at a local college or university within a reasonable commute of the site if working part-time while completing courses * Must have completed sophomore year prior to first rotation with Olin * Ability to work part-time (20 hours a week) during normal business hours if working while taking classes. Not eligible for virtual work. * Experience in ammunition and firearms with a knowledge of shooting sports industry is preferred * Preference will be given to candidates with availability and desire to work continuously throughout the year. * Must possess a valid US driver's license * This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls * This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives * This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The U.S. Government does not allow non-U.S. citizens onsite at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (Independence, Missouri). Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. *Olin does not provide any form of sponsorship.
