Position Summary:

The REACH Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Violence Prevention at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Center for Health Justice and Bioethics and will be responsible for the overall, day-to-day operations of REACH. REACH is an innovative, hospital linked Community Violence Intervention (CVI) program that, through credible messengers and trusted community members, provides individual case management and support to recently violently injured individuals and those at risk of experiencing and/ or engaging in violence. Primary duties including building and refining the program and processes, managing internal and external partner relationships, and motivating, mentoring, and supervising the REACH Community Case Worker team. The Program Manager also serves as the Behavioral Health Director of REACH, creating behavioral health plans for participants.

Job Details:

* This position requires the following background checks: criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting

Required Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, public health, or similar field; master's degree preferred

* Minimum of 5-year experience working in field of Community Violence Intervention/ Prevention

* Required knowledge and demonstrated application of trauma-informed care

* Minimum of 5-year experience with demonstrated success in leading, planning, and organizing operations

* Minimum of 3-year experience having successfully managed and motivated a high-performing staff team; experience in hiring and conducting job appraisals preferred

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated commitment to serving North Philadelphia community.

* Experience working with individuals impacted by violence, incarceration, and the criminal legal system. Those with personal experience are encouraged to apply.

* Proven community engagement abilities and trust and credibility in target neighborhoods and with populations served
* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and multi-task
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills
* Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
* Proven track record of consensus building and successful collaboration.
* Ability to operate all standard office equipment and software and proven ability to document programmatic activities

*Ability to work with diverse staff and populations whose interests, learning styles, and style of communication vary

*Ability to obtain Act 33 Child Abuse Clearances

Essential Duties:

* Organizing and managing day-to-day activities of the REACH team including developing, disseminating, and overseeing policies and procedures regarding operations and ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal policies and regulations

* Overseeing program offerings and enhancing quality of existing program and services including development of short and long-range plans for the program

* Identifying opportunities for continual improvement utilizing data and maintaining an up to date knowledge of best practice in the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) field

* Collaboratively with Director of Violence Prevention and TUHS Violence Prevention strategies, designs and develops or assists with design and development of the program

* Assists in producing, developing, and distributing teaching materials, handouts, news releases, pamphlets, and brochures

* Onboards and trains REACH Community Case Worker team and provides continuous oversight to team members, including in the field

* Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution

* Evaluates personnel performance and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance

* Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operational elements

* Collaborates with other Center for Health Justice and Bioethics programs to utilize resources and enhance community programming

* Establishes and maintains relationships with state and local agencies, community partners, and community organizations relevant to the mission and goals of REACH

* Completes behavioral health intake assessments and follow-up assessments to new and active participants of the program, referring when necessary

* Works directly with TUHS Violence prevention leadership to coordinate meeting participant needs and easeful communication and collaboration

* Timely documentation of all activities and patient services using designated tracking software to maintain accountability, support data reporting requirements, and facilitate presentations and publications

* Leads regular case reviews with Center and TUHS staff

* Identifies and engages with current and possible funding sources, including all reporting requirements.

* Participates in Center for Health Justice and Bioethics research and evaluation efforts.
