$65k-$80k Direct Hire 1st 2nd and 3rd shift Milwaukee, WI Job Category: Manufacturing Job Details: Duties and Tasks: Safety * Ensures a safe working environment, by making sure employees are performing duties in compliance with company policies and procedures * Identifies and corrects unsafe behaviors, tasks, or practices * Completes safety investigations, applies solutions, and audits for effectiveness * Identifies and corrects machine/equipment issues Quality * Monitors product quality and directs adjustments as necessary * Audits compliance of company policies, procedures, and programs * Ensure production and quality paperwork are filled out on the floor * Makes sure process instructions & rates are accurate * Reports and responds to product and process non-conformance issues Lean Manufacturing * Improve the direct manufacturing time and increase efficiency through the elimination of waste * 5S o Ensure facility is clean and organized (machines, work areas, assembly, WIP, etc.) * Process Management o Forms and Daily Management Boards are completed * Problem Solving o Implements root cause solutions to problems * Elimination of Waste o Over production, unnecessary motion, inventory, waiting, conveyance, correction, rework, underutilized talent, and accidents and injuries o Driving continual improvement Communication * Interface effectively with all levels of management * Communicates priorities effectively to plant personnel * Ensure all information and priorities are communicated to the following shifts * Completes shift documentation * Handles disciplinary actions of employees on shift Business Systems * Ensures all records and production information is recorded accurately * Ensure employees are following program rules put in place (completing paperwork accurately) * Complete required reports Production * Molding Troubleshooting & Processing Skills o Ability to process and set up difficult jobs o Understands all molding techniques * Hold personnel accountable for their actions * Ensures employees are meeting or exceeding established production standards (rates) * Rates employee's performance Human Resources * Responsible for training and development of personnel by creating safe work instructions, safe machine instructions, story boards and developing visual standards * Conducts employee performance reviews * Participates in the resolution of employee discussions General * Able to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management. * Any other task as assigned by management. Qualifications: Education / Experience * High School Diploma or GED * Associate or bachelor's degree preferred * 3-5 years supervisory experience in a machining or manufacturing environment * Computer Experience (Word, Excel, Power Point) * Exposer to business management systems * Quality Control (QC) experience Language Skills: * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals * Ability to write reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence * Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees Mathematical & Reasoning Skills * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages * Able to practical problem solve Working Environment & Physical Demands: Physical Demands * The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear * The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands, handle tools, and controls * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product * Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Work Environment * Must be able to work sometimes in a hot, dirty, dusty, noisy environment Additional Duties: This job description is in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
