Description

The Software Engineer is responsible for the planning, documentation, development, testing and implementation of new, high-quality, software solutions at Network Health. The incumbent needs to have a wide range of technical acumen to support the development of web, data integrations, and data warehousing solutions. The Software Engineer works closely with other technical professionals and the business to move a request through all phases of the software development lifecycle. Software Engineers will work in a highly demanding and fast paced environment with the expectation of influencing and establishing best practices and future direction.

Location: Candidates must reside in the state of Wisconsin for consideration. This position is eligible to work at your home office (reliable internet is required), at our office in Brookfield or Menasha, or a combination of both in our hybrid workplace model.

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm Monday through Friday

Job Responsibilities:



  • Plan and execute the end-to-end delivery of working software, integrations, and other deliverables, including but not limited to preparation of technical documentation and design specifications, acceptance criteria, and test cases
  • Collaborate with other engineers, developers, stakeholders, and leadership on software solutions and to align to best practice and established coding standards
  • Leverage existing tool stack and established standards where appropriate, consult with other engineers and leadership to recommend new or changed tools or standards
  • Collaborate with operational team to provide resources for a successful handoff post warranty period
  • Stay current with technological developments in software development and best practices by reading publications, participating in mail lists and online communities, attending conferences and workshops, and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues
  • Follow all audit and regulatory requirements; consult with Information System employees, leadership, and key business stakeholders on technical solutions and best practices; provide expertise to help develop and implement solutions to meet business requirements
  • Serve as level 1 support during warranty period
  • Serve as level 2 support post warranty period and handoff
  • Provide after hours on-call support, may be required to work later hours during implementation phases or as issues arise
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:



  • Associates degree in Software Development or related field
  • 4 years of professional experience developing software solutions; preferably in a healthcare and/or insurance environment
  • Extensive knowledge of T-SQL, database troubleshooting, database design principles and best practice
  • Broad knowledge of .Net Core, IIS, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, SSIS, JSON, XML, API technology (REST, SOAP, & WSDL), SAML 2.0, internet DNS and general Internet/Web technologies
  • Broad knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and virtual database architecture
  • General understanding of test-driven development and best practice
  • Basic understanding of Continuous Development and Integration techniques
