JOB SUMMARY:
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 250 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
CSIS's Development program is growing, and we are looking for a Manager of Development Operations to support this growth through accurate and timely gift tracking, reporting and data analyses.
The Manager of Development Operations is a critical part of the CSIS team that leads efforts to strategically develop relationships with and strengthen financial support from corporations, foundations, governments, and individuals to advance the Center's institutional goals and objectives. The position reports to the Senior Director of Development Operations and supports the work of the Strategic Planning office, including the Chief Development Officer.
The ideal candidate will be a data-driven professional who can optimize systems and processes, ensure data integrity, and translate insights into actionable strategies that enhance donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Management
* Oversee all development-related aspects of Salesforce ensuring data integrity, accuracy and security.
* Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and system workflows.
* Provide Center-wide donor database training as needed.
* Manage and update data for the Corporate Membership Portfolio via Salesforce and Excel; provide weekly/quarterly reports on received and expected gifts.
* Coordinate with Finance/Accounting to track gifts and ensure timely gift acknowledgement process.
* Analyze donor trends, performance, and segmentation opportunities.
* Use data and analysis to provide insights to inform prospecting, stewardship, and retention strategies.
Administrative
* Prepare and track corporate invoices for all of CSIS and submit invoices via corporate portals.
* Support corporate event programming (program transfers, tech and attendees) as needed.
* Draft acknowledgement letters for foreign government funders in collaboration with program teams.
* Ensure timely and accurate gift entry, receipting, and donor acknowledgment.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
* 5+ years of experience in fundraising operations and data management.
* Interest in global development, international relations, and policy-related research; ability to remain up to date on the research agendas of CSIS programs.
* Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications with advanced Excel skills (designing pivots sheets, etc.) and data visualization tools.
* Fluency in Salesforce is a must.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and writing skills.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
