Description Nursing/Clinical Support This program is a collaborative effort between MaineHealth and Southern Maine Community College (SMCC). This program will begin on October 13, with classes held at SMCC's So. Portland Campus. The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship with MaineHealth, in partnership with Southern Maine Community College, is now accepting applications! This 9-month program starts Oct. 13th and is a mix of classroom and clinical training. Classes are held one day per week (Tuesday's) at SMCC in So. Portland. Apprentices will also work 24 hours/week (3-8 hr days) at a MaineHealth outpatient practice (in Greater Portland or York County areas). Apprentices are paid $18.36 at 40 hrs plus full-time benefits. Candidates who are selected for the program will receive full financial support for schooling, including textbooks and other materials. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a variety of settings and specialties!
