Oracle Database Administrator Location: Remote (supporting Federal Government programs) Clearance: Current Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Oracle Database Administrator Harmonia is seeking a high-performing Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to work within a fast-paced Agile DevOps team that supports federal government systems. In this role, the Oracle DBA will accomplish the following:
- Participate in the development and maintenance of enterprise database systems while also serving as a database development resource to the application development team.
- Design and implement Oracle databases that meet program requirements, including developing data models that represent structure and relationships within data.
- Analyze data and systems to identify inconsistencies, trends, and performance issues. Develop queries, reports, and scripts to support development and business needs.
- Optimize databases for efficiency, reliability, and scalability by tuning, indexing, and implementing stored procedures. Identify and resolve database issues to ensure high availability and performance.
- Perform large-scale data cleanup, archiving, and scripting to manage legacy systems and ensure long-term database stability.
- Support cloud migration activities (AWS RDS, Azure), including schema creation, data movement, and integration.
- Implement organizational access controls and security measures, ensuring compliance with Federal data governance regulations.
- Provide technical support and collaborate with developers, other DBAs, and system administrators to resolve issues, transfer knowledge, and implement system changes.
- Document database schemas, configuration, processes, and operational runbooks. Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Associate's degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in database design, normalization, and data modeling supporting a Federal Government agency.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting software development teams with SQL/PL-SQL, scripting, and database integration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in database management, data analysis, and performance tuning.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in production environments.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
- Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot critical database issues under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience with cloud-hosted Oracle environments or migrations (AWS RDS, Azure).
- Experience scripting and automating database tasks using SQL/PL-SQL, Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring, auditing, and compliance frameworks for Federal systems.
