More than half the world's population sees AP journalism every day. The AP seeks a Senior Yield Analyst based in New York, NY. The Senior Yield Analyst will be responsible for monitoring AP's programmatic advertising demand and recommending optimizations to increase revenue, eCPMs and fill rates. This role will work closely with the rest of the Revenue Operations team, as well as the Analytics, Product and Sales teams to identify, pursue and implement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience with programmatic yield management and data analysis in support of a publisher's advertising business, including display, video, native solutions and email newsletters. Reports to the Manager, Yield and Revenue Strategy. Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance of all monetization partners to ensure operational stability and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Oversee ad quality across owned and operated platforms to maintain a high-quality user experience and brand integrity.
- Prepare and deliver accurate end-of-month revenue estimates to the Finance team to support financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Manage the invoicing process and ensure timely payment coordination across all revenue-generating partners.
- Generate ad hoc performance and operational reports for cross-functional stakeholders
- Utilize digital ad sales inventory, audience, engagement and monetization data to uncover new insights and business opportunities across AP's web and mobile platforms.
- Performday-to-day yield analysis, monitor performance and pursue proactive improvements across all programmatic integrations.
- Proactively present ideas to stakeholders across Product, Editorial, Sales, etc. and collaborate on how these ideas can help them achieve their goals.
- Proactively create new reporting and monitoring processes to maximize the performance and monetization of AP's ad stack.
- Manage revenue reporting processes, working with the Finance, Sales and Revenue Operations to track short-term and long-term revenue trends.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for the yield team (e.g., campaign management and performance optimization).
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the programmatic and direct advertising landscape, identifying trends and tech developments.
Requirements
- 4-5+ years in digital advertising at a publisher or ad tech company.
- 3+ years in a yield management or other advertising analytics role.
- High level of comfort working with DSPs, SSPs, ad networks, exchanges, etc. and operating across multiple digital advertising platforms.
- Understanding of yield management across varied integrations, including client-side and server-side header bidding, SDKs, tags, Open Bidding, etc.
- Advanced experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, charts, etc.)
- Site analytics experience; Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics API.
- Experience working with Google Ad Manager data transfer files preferred.
- Reporting visualization experience using Datorama, Looker or a similar tool.
- Ability to understand complex marketing and digital advertising data.
- Ability to work with large data sets.
- Experience working across formats including display, video, branded content, and native advertising across desktop, mobile web, in-app and newsletter.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments.
- Must be highly motivated, independent and detail oriented.
- B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent.
Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory. Salary & Benefits The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 contingent on experience and other job-related factors. Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan, employer-sponsored health insurance plan, and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.
