Description

Purpose:

Locating and purchasing parts from approved vendors, communicating with vendors, negotiating pricing, researching parts, validating acceptable alternatives, ordering supplies for outstations and handling aircraft on the ground (AOG) requirements.

Responsibilities:



  • Process and provide coverage for local and outstation requests for parts or supplies.
  • Expedite and quickly respond to any aircraft on the ground (AOG) parts request.
  • Identify parts/supplies for purchase that best meet the critical criteria of a parts request, whether that is price, location, or condition.
  • Purchase parts and supplies according to company policy.
  • Monitor, update, and follow up on any purchase order issued ensuring all vendors are meeting the expected level of performance
  • Proactively/creatively pursue alternative means of sourcing or production when vendors are unable to meet/conform with a need by date
  • Contribute to stocking level and cost analysis of inventory
  • Assists in forecasting inventory requirements for scheduled events
  • Support accounting with any invoicing discrepancies
  • Locate repair vendors, validate their capabilities, and confirm their status as an approved vendor
  • Assist with tool calibration program
  • Foster ongoing relationships with current vendors and identify new vendors that can provide better value and/or service
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for afterhours aircraft on the ground (AOG) support
  • Assist with local supply chain duties which may include but is not limited to shipping parts, receiving parts, issuing parts and tools.


Qualifications

Required experience:



  • Have at least 2 years of aviation purchasing experience
  • Knowledge of how inventory control/inventory management software works
  • Experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office suite products


Preferred:



  • Familiarity with Corridor Aviation Service Software
  • Purchasing experience for the following airframes: EMB-120, DHC-6, DHC-8, Metro liner
  • Experienced in using parts locating services (such as ILS or Parts Base)



Minimum education level to perform essential functions of the job:



  • High School diploma or equivalent


Preferred:



  • Undergraduate degree, (Business/Aeronautics degree preferred)
  • One-year experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be able to make logical decisions in high stress situations
  • Maintain a high level of organization at all times
  • Must be able to work productively alone or with little supervision
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions or Standard Operations Instructions
  • Must be able to recognize and prioritize any critical tasks in an industry with constantly changing demands



Physical Requirements:

Incumbent is required to be able to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs.
