Position Summary:

Assist with the delivery and implementation of various HR department day to day and strategic initiatives. Perform duties in a variety of functional core HR areas including but not limited to: design and facilitation of onboarding, employee relations, performance management, projects, implementation of policies and procedures, compensation and legal compliance.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assist the Human Resources VP and Director HR Operations with all aspects of HR procedures and policies within the specified guidelines. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Lead communications strategy development and execution on behalf of HR team. Leverage Intranet, welcome.almo.com, HR Happenings and other key opportunities to deliver clear and concise messaging.
  • Advise and coach management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Conduct investigations and respond to employee complaints.
  • Coordinate training or train managers in leadership development, performance management, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Lead onboarding for employee population, post offer acceptance and background check, including but not limited to: Day 1 I9/EVerify/HRIS data transfer, new hire orientation
  • Responsible for new supervisor development (based on internal transfer).
  • Lead and advocate employee engagement efforts develop programs and practices to heighten and deepen employee engagement (engagement survey leadership, new hire breakfasts, Bring Your Child to Work Day, women's leadership learning cohort, activities). Evaluate the multi-site and company culture, ensure that management is aware of and proactively responds to employee engagement issues.
  • Design and Manage Rewards and Recognition programs (administer Almo Kudos program, DC Kudos winners trip) and develop additional opportunities for R&R
  • Oversight for HR compliance:
    • Completion of annual EEO1 and Vets4212 Analysis, Reporting and Action Planning with HR team
    • Ensure job analysis, analyzing salary surveys to monitor internal equity and market competitiveness.
    • Interpret and ensure compliance and administration of employment laws and policies such as FLSA and EEO.
  • Coordinate and manage the company-wide performance management process, ensuring clear communication to the organization, compliance, consistency and objectivity.
  • Perform recruitment activities as needed, supporting high volume recruitment within our Talent Acquisition function as needed.
  • Manage corporate, business and HR related projects and initiatives and drive their implementation in alignment with the business strategy.


Qualifications

What we look for in a candidate:
  • BS/BA in Human Resources or relevant field
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a Generalist capacity
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
  • High ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make presentations to all levels of employees and management Proven ability to solve problems patiently and thoughtfully, applying technical and compliance expertise

Additional skills, knowledge, and abilities:
  • Professional HR certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
