A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Haam at Louisiana State University (http://haamlab.org). Dr. Haam's laboratory is interested in understanding the neural circuit basis of memory formation using cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches. The research projects will utilize multidisciplinary approaches that combine photometry, electrophysiology, miniature endoscopy, rodent behavior, histology, transcriptome, and computational analysis to investigate memory circuits in the entorhinal cortex and their interactions with the hippocampal and neocortical regions. This could be a great opportunity for a researcher who has experience in some of the approaches listed but has the desire to get training on other approaches to tackle important questions in the memory consolidation mechanism during sleep. Requirements The candidate should hold a PhD with a solid background in neuroscience, biology, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines. Application instructions To apply, use the LSU Workday website: https://lsu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/LSU/job/A0603-Life-Sciences-Annex/Postdoctoral-Researcher_R00107446. In addition, candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Haam (jhaam1@lsu.edu) directly at the time of application. Any questions or informal inquiries, please contact Dr. Haam (jhaam1@lsu.edu). About Working in Dr. Haam's Laboratory Dr. Haam's laboratory is located on the main Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. Dr. Haam's laboratory uses in vivo recordings, rodent behavior testing, molecular biology, imaging, and computational approaches, and collaborates with other laboratories at LSU Vet School, Pennington Biomedical Center, LSU Ag Center, and Tulane University. As an employee at LSU, the candidate will benefit from the following: Training on cutting-edge in vivo approaches Opportunity to collaborate with other research laboratories in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas Excellent health insurance options (https://www.lsu.edu/hrm/benefits/index.php) Multiple retirement plans (401k, 403b, and Roth 403b) Access to the amazing university recreation facility (https://www.lsu.edu/urec/) at faculty & staff rates |
