Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Malware Reverse Engineer

Location: Arlington, VA
Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility required
Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000 + benefits

KeyLogic is seeking a highly skilled Malware Reverse Engineer to support a federal client. This key personnel role involves researching malware, vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics, and developing mitigation strategies and detection signatures. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and innovation to malware analysis and reverse engineering efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on malware, vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics.
  • Develop mitigation strategies based on malware threats and adversary Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Create and maintain YARA and SIGMA signatures for threat detection.
  • Design and implement innovative tools and methodologies for malware analysis.
  • Provide expert guidance on reverse engineering techniques and best practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in malware reverse engineering and cybersecurity.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Evaluating and analyzing complex malware using advanced reverse engineering tools.
    • Utilizing disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines (VMs), and network sniffers.
    • Application and network security, including assembly and web programming.
    • Understanding and countering obfuscation and encryption techniques.
