LOCATION: Onsite role in Avon, Ohio

SHIFT & HOURS: Monday- Friday -1st--Shift 7am - 3:30pm; 2nd shift --3pm -11:30pm

Sunday-Thursday 3rd Shift- 11pm-7:30am

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Packaging Operator to be responsible for operating and monitoring packaging equipment to ensure products are packed, labeled, and palletized accurately and on time. This role supports production schedules while maintaining food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The operator also helps keep the work area safe, clean, and efficient.

As a Packer your responsibilities will include:

  • Read and interpret production schedules to pack finished goods accurately, ensuring correct cartons and labels are used.
  • Erect cartons, apply labels, and place the correct number of pouches or cups into each carton.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain taper and code dater equipment.
  • Stack cartons on pallets in the correct tier configuration and layer count.
  • Record yield and production data accurately.
  • Complete all required training for the role, demonstrate understanding, and apply training on the job.
  • Ensure all products meet Food Safety, Quality, Legal, and Authenticity standards for both source and destination locations.
  • Support BRC requirements by coordinating, reviewing, and implementing functional area protocols.
  • Participate in audits, provide training as needed, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and legal requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

2 Year Earning Potential Based on Performance

  • 6 Months - $17.65
  • 12 Months-$18.08
  • 24 Months- $18.53

Qualified candidates will have:

  • It is essential to have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
  • Must have basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Must be able to complete forklift certification program

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will occasionally need to operate and drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.

Environmental Concerns

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Dust and odor present in environment.
