Sr. Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Product Management Business Analyst with a strong background in emergency management, research, and analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience and a proven ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations that lead to the development of complex business and technical offerings. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, business acumen, and subject matter knowledge to support planning, operational readiness, and strategic initiatives. Knowledge of or ability and desire to learn and apply technical concepts to business problems is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct research and data analysis related to emergency management operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop business process models, requirements documents, and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and readiness.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document workflows, and identify business needs.
  • Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership, business partners, clients, and prospective clients.
  • Support development of strategic plans, operational frameworks, and continuity plans in alignment with emergency management best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Stay current with industry trends, federal/state/local regulations, and best practices in emergency management.



Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related analytical/business role.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency management, homeland security, disaster recovery, or related fields.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly document requirements and develop process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and analytical tools.



Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):



  • Experience with CDBG-DR Implementations
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or local government programs.
  • Familiarity with FEMA, DHS, or other emergency management frameworks and standards.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), data analysis tools, AI/ML offerings, CRM, RPA, SaaS products.
