Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Health and Safety/Radiation Technician in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:



  • Providing radiological control functions, sample collection/analysis, contamination/exposure control, area postings/identification
  • Monitoring for control purposes, release of materials, emergency response (including Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT) qualification, surface survey for characterization
  • Tracking radiological exposures for access control
  • Shipping radioactive material
  • Maintaining the respiratory protection program
  • Maintaining specified aspects of the dosimetry program
  • Performing personnel decontamination and first-aid/medical support
  • Maintaining radiological instrument program
  • Participating in specified pre-job briefings
  • Working with routine and/or special detection equipment
  • Performing special studies in the evaluation of radiological protection for personnel/environmental/plant areas
  • Prepare/maintain records as required
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of radiation control documents such as Radiation Work Procedures/Radiation Job Permits/Standard Operating Procedures, Imatic calibration setups
  • Collection of the sewer samples/ambient air samples/environmental samples
  • Technical assistance with unusual problem solving
  • Interpretation of procedures/practices/regulations/license standards
  • Providing mentoring and training to lower level HSTs as requested
  • Changing out occupational and environmental TLDs
  • Assist in training, sending out reminders and restrictions for the urine program
  • Surveying and packaging TLDs for shipment
  • Collect/enter/preparation/delivery urine/fecal samples
  • Stock bioassay supplies
  • Collect/submit samples
  • Make program schedule notifications and program compliance notifications
  • Downloading dose tracking touch probes and uploading touch probe downloads
  • Create and distribute dose tracking report.

Framatome's Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. Your Total Rewards Package

This position has a fixed base salary of $43.45 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
