What You'll Do:

Through the use of independent judgment, the Manager - Production, Planning and Logistics is responsible to monitor and oversee the flow of material to optimize customer satisfaction and profitability.



  • Supports the Company philosophy concerning unions and works to maintain a union free environment through the utilization of good supervisory practices.
  • Maintains adherence to Company Safety Policies through education and accountability.
  • Provide leadership in supply chain management across the entire organization.
  • Supervise / Manage Production Planning staff, Shipping Coordinator and IT personnel.
  • Develop long-range forecasting and strategic inventory levels with the assistance of Sales.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to develop systems to process orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to establish processes and procedures for quoting and confirming accurate product ship dates to customers that account for both process cycle time and order size.
  • Develop processes and tools to maintain visibility of work in process status and accurately monitors capacity as compared to the shop load.
  • Work closely with outside processing vendors to understand their capacities and establish reliable and repeatable processes for managing the supply chain within those constraints.
  • Partner with IT resources to develop and improve upon existing tools to support the supply chain management needs of the organization.
  • Oversees the flow of materials involving outside processing.
  • Interact with Sales Department, Production, Metallurgy, Raw Materials and Purchasing, to efficiently process orders to meet customer expectations.
  • Respond to delivery capacity questions.
  • Optimizes routings to achieve the lowest cost.
  • Receive shop feedback and implement corrective action, as related to on time delivery performance and customer requirements.
  • Perform work in accordance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Identify, manage, prioritize and coordinate with corporate IT required changes and enhancements to ERP/Syteline system.
  • Will be required to travel (local and nationally), as necessary.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
  • Must have ability and desire to work well with others.
  • Meets attendance requirements.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.


EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain Management or equivalent work-related experience.


EXPERIENCE:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manufacturing experience in metal processing is preferred.
  • 5-10 years' experience in Supply Chain Management is required.
  • Minimum 3 years Supervisory/Management experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly organized, have a sense of urgency, and be proactive and results oriented with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office


DRIVING:



  • Required to have an active and valid driver's license, or the ability to travel and commute as required, and comply with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program.


EQS TRAINING:



  • Theoretical Steelmaking Course (unless college course work supersedes)
