HX5 is currently seeking a Mid-Level Windows System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract in Colorado Springs, CO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Windows based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
- Work with system engineers and other system administrators to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.
- Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.
- Work with senior system administrators to develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation.
- Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
- Perform the hardening of Windows Systems and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
- Perform system automation activities utilizing scripting tools and languages.
Salary Range: This position is expected to pay $100,000 - $120,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Education andExperience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Must have 2, or more, years of directly related experience in a government environment.
- Must have experience with Active Directory and its core components (ADUC, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Must have experience with security management and application updates using Group Policy, WSUS, or other Windows tools
- Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification).
- Must have experience and a thorough understanding of the MDSEA environment.
- Must Have an active DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Requirements:
- Have experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11.
- Have basic networking knowledge.
- Have a working knowledge of Configuration Management processes.
- Have experience using Remedy.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain the required level clearance by date of hire.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
