Job Description:

Position:Assistant Professor, Cognitive Psychology

Location: One Trinity Place, San Antonio, TX 78212

Responsibilities: Conduct research in particular field of knowledge by developing an active research program with undergraduate students and publish findings in
peer-reviewed publications. Prepare 4-5 course sections per academic year
(e.g. two sections of cognitive psychology in the fall, two sections of
statistics and methods in the spring) and deliver lectures to undergraduate
students to support the academic mission of the department and university.
Advise and mentor research students and psychology majors, offering
valuable insights into academic and vocational curricula as well as
facilitating career development. This involves fostering a supportive
environment for students to thrive in their educational and professional
journeys. Actively participate in university and departmental committees,
engaging in critical discussions and decision-making processes related to
institutional policies, departmental affairs, and broader academic issues.
This role involves contributing to the overall governance and strategic
direction of both the university and the department.

Educ./experience: PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Psychology or related field, plus one (1) year of post-baccalaureate experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow or a related position within the Psychology field. Experience must include
programming in Python, mathematical and computational modeling, grant
writing, budget management, experimental design, statistical analysis, and
scientific communication.
