Job Description: Position:Assistant Professor of Economics Location: One Trinity Place, San Antonio, TX 78212 Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate economics courses. The Assistant Professor of Economics will be responsible for teaching five courses per academic year. The Assistant Professor of Economics will evaluate and grade students' class work assignments, and papers, as well as initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Create and teach economics courses. It is preferred that the candidate have expertise to teach courses in international trade and development economics. The Assistant Professor of Economics will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures to undergraduate students on various topics of Economics. He will prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts, as well as plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Conduct research in economics that results in publications andother intellectual contributions to the University. The Assistant Professor of Economics will stay knowledgeable of developments in Economics by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences. Participate in Trinity University's FYE or Pathways curriculum. The Assistant Professor of Economics will collaborate with members of the business community to improve programs, to develop new programs, and to provide student access to learning opportunities such as internships. Provide service to the University, the department and the community at a level that is expectedfor faculty at the same rank. The Assistant Professor of Economics will serve on Trinity University's academic and administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues. Educ./experience: PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, an economics specialization, or a related field, plus one (1) year of post-baccalaureate experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow or in a related position in the Economics field.
