Material Handler

Job Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for managing the movement of incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring proper tracking and delivery of materials in the production process. They strive to meet or exceed company performance goals and customer satisfaction levels, while prioritizing safety and adhering to company policies and procedures. The hours for this shift are Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 1am, if overtime is required it is on Friday from 1pm to 9pm.

Essential Functions:

• Perform all data entry transactions related to inventory, receiving incoming materials and managing material returns from manufacturing.
• Issue materials as required based on schedules, pick lists, and purchase orders, collaborating directly with each department to coordinate material needs.
• Read, follow, and perform work instructions while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Ship materials when necessary.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment.
• May conduct cycle counting according to Materials department procedures.
• Manage paperwork and supporting documentation as per Materials department procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, job tickets, safety rules, and ship reports accurately.
• Ability to write basic correspondence through email or on paper to fellow employees and supervisors.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, use a ruler and calculator, and count.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to operate equipment such as a skid wrapper and other packaging equipment.
• Ability to work well independently or in a team.

Working Conditions:

• Required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
• May be required to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
• May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
• May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Previous experience in print, material handling, or shipping and receiving preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Forklift license. Equipment used may include forklifts, clamp trucks, powered walk-behind lifts, order pickers, reach trucks, battery charging and maintenance equipment.
