Summary: As the State Account Director, you are responsible for directing all retention and growth activities associated with assigned state government client accounts focused on controlled substance solutions and Prescription Monitoring Programs (PDMPs). You will serve as the main contact for these accounts, ensuring overall success through strategic and tactical leadership and oversight of all account activities. The role emphasizes fostering relationships with key state government stakeholders, ensuring Bamboo Health's solutions effectively address the needs of controlled substance programs. This role also requires a focus on sales growth and expanding the adoption of our solutions within the government sector. What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned state clients, ensuring all contractual commitments related to controlled substances programs are met.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of government, including decision-makers and program directors.
- Lead strategic discussions and advise clients on ways to enhance the effectiveness of their controlled substances programs, positioning Bamboo Health's solutions as essential to their operations.
- Identify upsell opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to offer solutions that expand program scope or improve service delivery in the controlled substance space in order to meet an annual sales quota.
- Track and analyze performance metrics and KPIs for clients to ensure alignment with strategic goals, and work proactively to identify opportunities for improvement or growth.
- Act as an escalation point for internal teams to ensure timely delivery of project commitments and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with product management, marketing, operations, and engineering teams to deliver scopes of work, change orders, and software enhancement request documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Ensure successful contract renewals/extensions, project additions, and other required contract modifications.
- Provide expert insights to clients on the integration of controlled substance-related data into broader public health initiatives and systems.
What Success Looks Like: In 3 months...
- You will have learned Bamboo Health's product offerings, particularly those related to controlled substance programs, and developed strong relationships with your clients.
- You'll be familiar with the state government environment and understand the unique needs of clients working within the controlled substance space.
In 6 months...
- You'll begin independently managing your accounts, with a deep understanding of their strategic initiatives and priorities.
- You'll be well-versed in all metrics and KPIs for success and will be contributing to quarterly performance reviews.
In 12 months...
- You'll be an expert on your clients' programs and have developed strategic account plans focused on risk reduction, improving client experience, and identifying revenue growth opportunities.
- You'll meet or exceed your quarterly and annual retention and growth targets.
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of account management experience in healthcare IT, state government, SaaS sales, or a similar field, with a focus on controlled substances or similar healthcare sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully retaining clients and growing revenue through strategic account management, including complex contract management and negotiation.
- Expertise in state-level healthcare policy, particularly controlled substance monitoring programs and the challenges facing state PDMPs (Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including government officials and C-level executives.
- Technical acumen to facilitate collaboration with technical resources and lead initiatives focused on solving problems using software.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in navigating complex government systems.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- The ability to travel periodically for work.
