Job Summary
The Production Planner plays a key role in coordinating production workflow, supporting daily operations, and ensuring timely delivery of products. This position serves as a vital link between the Project Manager, Production Manager, and Logistics and Facilities Manager by assisting with scheduling, resource planning, and shop floor execution. The Production Planner will also serve as the primary contact for a priority client account, ensuring their projects are managed with a high level of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency through all phases of production.
Essential Functions
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize production activities to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and Project Manager(s) to manage workflow and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Support logistics by tracking materials, coordinating deliveries, and monitoring shop supply levels.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements for a key client account, including documentation and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor ERP system for production status, material availability, and job progress; make real-time updates as needed.
- Work closely with the Production Assistant to track inventory, maintain cleanliness, and assist in machine maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with the Facilities and Logistics team to ensure proper equipment function, layout optimization, and maintenance coordination.
- Perform basic production tasks such as visual inspection, post-processing, and light machinery operations when needed to support team workflow.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements for production scheduling and client service.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams and the priority client to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure expectations are met.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing and casting processes
- Basic knowledge of material properties

- Proficient knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years in manufacturing environment
Physical Requirement/Work Environment:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size
- Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout shift
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs moderately throughout workday, occasionally 50+ lbs with a team lift
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
- Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme, ear protection required and provided
- Work environment exposures include fumes or airborne particles (PPE available upon request) and moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Work Hours/Travel:
- 1st shift work schedule, Monday - Friday, overtime as necessary
- Remote work not available
