Wage Scale Position Summary
Under direction, the main purposes of this position are to conduct duties in a manner that ensures overall plant safety and efficiency, record readings for auxiliary equipment on a regular basis, determine need for equipment repairs, communicate equipment problems and solutions among co-workers, and perform other duties as required. Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Skills
Personal Computer Usage Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Experience working with any of the following; pumps (high volume/low & high pressure pumps, positive displacement pumps), compressors, high voltage transformers, motors, boilers (such as small auxiliary steam boilers or positive/negative pressure boilers)
Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization
Strong mechanical aptitude
Effective reading, writing, and mathematical skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team player
Ability to work an adjusted schedule as needed to meet deadlines. Ability to work call duty to include holidays, nights, and weekends as well as ability to work unscheduled overtime when needed.
Ability to work at any CPS Energy power plant location
Possess a valid driver's license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations
Ability to differentiate between colors and read control panels
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and to work at high elevations and in enclosed spaces
Ability to work in an environment that includes high noise levels and exposure to extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, smoke, dust, fumes, heights, etc. Preferred Qualifications
