POSITION SCOPE

The Lab Technician is a safety sensitive position and will collect the samples and test pit run gravel and processed aggregates. The duties will also include measuring distances, gravel pits, and stockpile volumes.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Travel to remote locations to collect and test pits, run gravel, and processed aggregates
  • Communicate with the plant foreman regarding material specifications
  • Assist plant foreman with equipment modifications to produce material within project requirements
  • Communicate with prime contractors and project engineers on gravel specifications
  • Measure quantities of materials produced
  • Measure and map new and existing gravel sources
  • Prospect for new gravel sources
  • Assist the crews with setup and tearing down portable plants
  • Comply with company's safety standards and policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred
  • Team player with good work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Require extensive overnight travel
