Position Summary
Flexible work arrangements, including remote/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as Hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.

Assignment not to exceed 5 years. The Population Group seeks a full-time, nurse-interviewer for the Carolina Breast Cancer Study Phase 4 (CBCS4). Duties include traveling to participants homes, obtaining informed consents, conducting research interviews, and completing study required assessments such as measurements and blood draws. The nurse-interviewer must be able to strictly adhere to study protocols.

This study aims to recruit 3,000 participants, randomly chosen from cases submitted from the Central Cancer Registry. The nurse-interviewer will be expected conduct the in-home visit in a timely manner, at a time convenient to both the participant and themselves (which may include evenings and weekends). After each visit, the nurse-interviewer will ensure delivery of collected specimens to the UNC Biospecimen Processing Facility either in-person or through other means allowed by protocol. The nurse-interviewer is also expected to travel to Chapel Hill once a week to pick-up and return study materials from the CBCS4 office.

Additional responsibilities include:

* This position may also assist with cleaning, coding, and entering study data in respective data management systems. This position will participate in the collection and tracking of medical record and tumor block releases for subjects who have received treatment for cancers under the studies within the Population Group.
* This position will gather, clean, and enter medical record provider information into respective data management systems.
* This position is responsible for identifying and disseminating information to study participants regarding available local community resources as well as researching and advising on resources that may be beneficial for study participants.
* This position is responsible for tracking participants that are lost to contact and/or coordinating with study coordinators to complete this task.

Requirements include residence in the greater Charlotte, NC, region due to the large number of participants living in that area.

Requirements include reliable transportation and the ability to travel up to 160 miles to participants' homes and to Chapel Hill, NC; NC nursing license; and diligent adherence to all best practices and regulations related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Requirements include residence in the greater Charlotte, NC, region due to the large number of participants living in that area.
Requirements include reliable transportation and the ability to travel up to 160 miles to participants' homes and to Chapel Hill, NC; BSN degree/NC nursing license; and diligent adherence to all best practices and regulations related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
* Exceptionally strong organization and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to ensure successful communication with the full study team and with study participants.
* Ability to work well independently and within a research team is critical to ensure aims of the Population Group studies are met efficiently and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* The preferred candidate will have prior experience in working with diverse patient populations or with large epidemiology and/or cancer research studies with human subjects and in collecting specimens.
* Good investigative/analytic skills, excellent attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
