Job Description (General Summary)

Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has a position available for an Applications Engineer with a strong background in mechanical technologies to provide technical service and support to the commercial sales teams for installation of our modular plastic belting technology and ThermoDrive technology in conveyance. Ideally, this candidate would be located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Recommend and implement solutions per application guidelines
  • Seek to understand competitive technologies and evaluate needs
  • Support Intralox Account Managers to implement Intralox solutions by aligning priorities with commercial strategies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales Account Managers and customers through timely, regular visits
  • Assist the implementation of complex projects
  • Manage any class product/solution performance issues
  • Work with the Technical Support Group to review, share and learn new applications
  • On-site support for newly delivered products:
    • Machine and belt installation
    • Production start-up
    • Operator and maintenance instructions to users
  • Troubleshoot
  • Deliver technical field reports
  • Work alongside food processors (especially Meat, Poultry and Seafood customers) to support implementation of recommendations and field services
  • Perform other related service duties as assigned
  • Service emphasis for customers in North America, International travel may be required at times
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Food Science, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer support (on-site or remote) or industrial sales support as a technical resource.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and articulate mechanical concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 60%, including weekends and holidays; mostly predictable and scheduled
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
