GENERAL FUNCTION

The Quality Assurance Lab Tech 2 for Frame Qualification is responsible for planning, organizing, and performing the frame qualification process for the Luxottica Engineering function. The QA Tech 2 is accountable for supporting the Brands and businesses (domestic and international) as it relates to new product introduction.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Evaluate non-conforming occurrences in manufacturing, develop and/or revise workflow methods. Inform management on changes/additions and assist associates in correcting deficiencies as necessary.
  • Responsible for assisting the leadership team in achieving continuous process improvement.
  • Using root cause problem solving skills, collect and analyze data, and prioritize and deliver data as necessary.
  • Direct, review, and approve lens shape design and changes.
  • Execute policies, standards and procedures for the technical work performed in the Product Integration Department.
  • Assists with appropriate training for new team members
  • Participates in engineering improvements, including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost time management.
  • Develops partnerships with technical areas in the research and resolution of system and process problems.
  • Stays up to date with IT and PLM technical experts to remain current on changes and new developments and techniques that affect and/or improve processes and procedures.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related work experience, including manufacturing process, optics, and frame/lens integration
  • Proficiency in MS Office, computer usage, and basic statistics
  • Ability to work within cross-functional team environments; ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • ABO Certification or advanced license
  • 3+ years optical manufacturing lab experience
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work tasks, environments, processes and cultures
  • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • 5+ years optical manufacturing lab experience


Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
