Summary of Job Duties:This A Remote Position.

Clinical Interpreter, provides a full range of interpreting and translation services to patients, families, and staff in English and Spanish. Services include over-the-phone interpreting (OPI), video remote interpreting (VRI), and document translation. This role supports effective communication in medical and organizational settings while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish

Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree plus two (2) years of interpreting experience OR High School diploma plus four (4) years of interpreting experience

Ability to follow oral instructions, read, and write proficiently in both languages

Competence in Language Interpreting certificate OR equivalent/higher medical interpreter certification within 90 days of hire

Completion of at least 40 hours of medical interpreter training OR equivalent/higher education within 90 days of hire

Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Qualifications:

  • Provide Spanish/English interpreting services via phone, video, or in person as needed

  • Translate written documents accurately and in a timely manner

  • Assist patients, families, and providers in understanding medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatment instructions

  • Ensure confidentiality of patient and institutional information

  • Utilize medical terminology appropriately and maintain accuracy in all communications

  • Support departmental needs such as scheduling, reporting, or related duties

  • Maintain professionalism, cultural competence, and adherence to institutional standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned
