Description

Markon is seeking a Nuclear Facilities Engineer to join our team in Niskayuna, NY supporting a government customer!



Responsibilities

    Develop technical work documents that incorporate engineering controls (radiological, environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene) for activities involving radioactive and/or nuclear material.
  • Train and qualify as an Engineer of Radiological Work.
  • Perform duties focused on facility and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Maintaining project work schedules.
  • Conducting field observations of work to validate compliance and quality.
  • Maintenance of Engineer of Radiological Work and supplemental qualifications.
  • Other work as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • Must have active DOE L clearance to be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of work experience as a Nuclear Facilities Engineer.
  • Potential for telework up to 10%.

Desired:

  • BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering or other related field.
  • Experience in writing technical reports through work-related experience.
  • Previous experience as an Engineer of Radiological Work and/or ability to rapidly qualify.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Radiation protection background through education or work-related experience.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.


Salary Range

USD $155,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
