Description

Markon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer
(PPTT) project. This position can be located in Kesselring, NY or West Mifflin, PA.



Responsibilities

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers across multiple locations.

  • Review and disposition Supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements.

  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied.

  • Review static structural analyses of designs.



Qualifications

  • Must have active DOE L clearance to be considered.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Potential for telework up to 15%.

Desired:

  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with Model Based Design.
  • Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers.
  • Experience reviewing static structural analyses (e.g. FEA).
  • Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS).
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience reviewing designs for joining processes (e.g. welding).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.


Salary Range

USD $140,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
