Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Data Manager providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.

This is a full-time role at Hanscom AFB, MA.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Analyzing and recommending data requirements and specifications
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining data modeling software
  • Analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data modeling requirements
  • Developing and administering data standards, policies and procedures
  • Designing, normalizing, de-normalizing, developing, installing, and implementing databases
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of conceptual data model, logical data models, physical data models, reversed-engineered data models, semantically consistent data model, and database design for OLTP Online Transaction Processing is a type of data processing that consists of executing a number of transactions occurring concurrently, OLAP Online analytical processing (OLAP) is software technology you can use to analyze business data from different points of view. Organizations collect and store data from multiple data sources, such as websites, applications, smart meters, and internal systems
  • Establishing Data Modeling best-practices, processes, standards, and methodology
  • Leading and collaborating with leadership, application teams, data stewards, data modelers, and the Acquisition team for evaluating, selecting, and implementing data modeling tools
  • Providing regular updates to the leadership, application leads, and cross-functional teams
  • Coordinating with Data Governance team for data policies for data quality, data standards, data modeling, data contracts, data access, data security including cybersecurity, data archiving, and data retention
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of data catalog, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data modeling
  • Work with application architects, data teams, database administrators to improve data query performance, and database efficiency


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a professional engineering discipline from an accredited educational program and 7 years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75, including an understanding of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a professional discipline from an accredited educational program and 5 years of directly related experience with 3 years of experience in a DoD setting
