TITLE: Payroll Manager

LOCATION: Hybrid in Alsip, IL - Average 1-2days/week

COMP RANGE: $100,000 - $135,000/year plus bonus

Griffith Foods is hiring a Payroll Manager to drive transformational change as you lead the evolution of US & Canadian payroll operations, leveraging Workday to establish industry-leading practices that impact 1,400employees.

As a Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the bi-weekly payroll processing in the United States and Canada utilizing Workday.

  • Preparing and overseeing the preparation of payroll-related documents to meet compliance requirements, and documenting activities and providing audit support.

  • Manage all payroll tax audits in partnership with ADP Smart Compliances in the United States and Canada.

  • Partner with Corporate Treasury to ensure funding of payroll & payroll tax plan obligations.

  • Manage the reporting for and payments by the Griffith Foods Foundation, including review of all donation requests for the appropriate support, processing approved donations for payment and accounting by unit vs. the donation budget.

  • Lead 1 direct report (Payroll & Retirement Plans Specialist).

The Payroll Manager position is well suited for you if you:

  • Have previously participated in a Workday payroll implementation or environment.

  • Are a detail-oriented payroll expert with a passion for optimizing processes and collaborating across teams.

  • Take initiative and have a comfort level in raising issues, suggesting solutions, and positively challenging others.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills, good strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, honesty and integrity.

  • Clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex topics for target audiences.

  • Have successfully managed sensitive, confidential matters and protected the security of information.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) OR 8 years of relevant experience, as an equivalent

  • At least 5 years of payroll experience, including experience with multi-state US payrolls and Canadian payroll and supporting full-cycle payroll for at least 1,400 employees.

  • At least 2 years of Workday Payroll experience.

  • Proficiency in payroll and time tracking systems, such as Workday, ADP, CloudPay with experience implementing and managing payroll systems.

  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Willingness to work onsite in Alsip 1 - 2 days per week.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification

  • Workday Payroll Certified

  • At least 2 years of leading people.
