Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices is seeking an Estate Administrator for the Private Client Group who will be resident in our Philadelphia Office. The Estate Administrator is responsible for estate administration from probate through final distribution. This position works closely with Private Client partners and directly with Firm clients.

Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This position will reside in our Boston, New York or Philadelphia office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule (consisting of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating administrative procedures from probate of will to distribution of assets

  • Gathering assets and obtains valuation thereof.

  • Preparation of the following tax returns: Federal Estate Tax, PA Inheritance Tax, Fiduciary Income Tax, Personal Income Tax, Federal gift tax returns, and other miscellaneous tax returns

  • Oversight of administrative duties including file management

  • Acting as liaison between Firm and clients

  • Preparation of Trust Fiduciary Income Tax Returns

  • Researching and drafting documents such as estate deeds, receipt and release agreements, incapacity proceedings

  • Auditing documents including preparation of petitions, riders, notices, schedules of distribution and electronic filing thereof with the courts.

Experience/Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or, equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficiency in Lackner; Lacerte; NumberCruncher; TigerTables and FDS security pricing

  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact with High Net Worth clients; team player; ability to manage fast-paced, high volume workload.

For positions in New York, NY the salary range for this job posting is: $91,500- $146,325.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
