The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), the Admissions Officer maintains and updates digital platforms and databases serving the Admissions Office of the school with approximately 750 students. The position supports GSAPP's recruitment and enrollment efforts, including communications with prospective and admitted students, planning and hosting of recruiting events and online information sessions, and preparation of written materials, including newsletters and website updates. The position supports applicants and admitted students during the application and enrollment cycle, responding to calls, written inquiries, and in-person visits, ensuring timely and accurate responses and information sharing. The position tracks interactions and applicant data integrity, maintains consistency in data management, and updates related to online platforms and website pages as needed.

Responsibilities

Applicant Communications and Events (55%)



  • Respond to prospect and applicant inquiries across communications platforms.
  • Prepare prospective student activities and visits.
  • Prepare informational materials for prospective students and support outreach events and admissions fairs.
  • Program event registrations and other submission forms in the admissions system.
  • Manage online info sessions and webinars for prospective students.


Database Management (30%)



  • Assist with application processing as needed.
  • Update applicant records as needed for consistent data management.
  • Maintain applicant records, including prospects and support outreach messaging.
  • Maintain a database of academic and other external partners, and support outreach messaging.
  • Track and report on application activity throughout the admissions cycle.
  • Generate regular queries and reports on applications, admissions, enrollment, and yield, including comparative reports/analysis of current against past admissions cycle.


Website and System Updates (10%)



  • Implement system and website updates, including academic calendar dates, admissions and deadlines, prospective and admitted student pages, and appointment forms, among others.
  • Content updates and maintenance of additional platforms such as Google Groups or similar tools, and digital resources and guides for prospective, admitted, and enrolled students.
  • Program content updates for automatic system email communications for prospective and admitted students.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent. 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work with a highly diverse, international student body.
  • Must possess mature judgement and have the ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive issues with tact and discretion.
  • Required computer skills include knowledge of desktop publishing, web design, Slate database management, SQL, and Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in an academic setting.
  • Some background in architecture/design or a related field is desirable.
  • Prior experience with Slate and advanced Excel.
