Software Engineer

Your Role

The Gensler Strategy group has a key position available for a talented Software Engineer. In this position, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to wear many hats and learn a wide variety of technologies. We are looking for candidates who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help our team create, support, and troubleshoot digital solutions that we create for our clients, including websites, apps, and interactive cloud-based solutions.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with stakeholders to determine application requirements, perform analysis to create statement of work and provide time estimates
• Define, develop, and maintain applications written in various web development technologies
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and fixing application issues
• Prepare required documentation for application support
• Maintain an awareness and understanding of technological advances; provide continuous research and assessment of new resources and technology available

Your Qualifications

Essential

• 3-5 years of experience in a related position
• Proficient in Typescript (NextJS, React), HTML, CSS and experienced with additional server-side languages (e.g. ASP, PHP, Rust).
• Familiar with browser-based accessibility standards
• High level of proficiency in a version control system, preferably Git and Github
• Initiative to propose and create appropriate solutions for changing situations
• Willingness to learn new technologies and new ways of approaching projects
• Strong communication, customer service, troubleshooting, organizational skills, and the ability to complete assigned work with minimal instruction and supervision
• Strong non-technical skills including, but not limited to, problem-solving, work prioritization, communication, self-direction, and time management

Desirable

• Agile process and tooling experience, e.g. Scrum, Jira
• SQL and NoSQL database knowledge
• Modern (e.g. Docker, Azure, AWS) and legacy Windows (IIS, SQL Server) platform design and maintenance

**The base salary will be estimated between $85k-105K plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
