Mansfield Service Partners has relocated to a brand-new shop in Loretto, MN, and we're looking for a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to help bring it to life. This is a unique opportunity to shape how the shop runs from day one, working closely with our Fleet Manager to establish operations, processes, and culture. Details are below skills. What You'll Do
- Take ownership of shop setup and daily operations with guidance from the Fleet Manager.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet: tractors, fuel trailers, stainless steel trailers, van trailers, tankwagons, stakebeds, and more.
- Use Fleetio, SmarTruck, and Samsara to manage work orders, inspections, and diagnostics.
- Perform test drives, diagnose issues, and complete repairs on brake systems, steering, pumping systems, meters, overfill systems, and running gear.
- Conduct quarterly PMs and weekly lot checks to ensure equipment readiness.
- Collaborate with Dispatch and Operations to prioritize repairs and resolve issues.
- Track inventory, manage parts, and review invoices with Fleet Manager.
- Stay compliant with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and safety standards.
- Share best practices and support team development across MSP locations.
- Must adhere to maintenance software that tracks repair times; technicians are required to clock in and out of service tasks.
- Log repair activities accurately by clocking in and out of service tasks using maintenance software to ensure precise tracking of repair times.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of mechanical experience (diesel, automotive, construction equipment); 8+ years preferred.
- Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements (or ability to obtain).
- TWIC card (or ability to obtain).
- ASE certifications preferred - see incentive structure below.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Having your own tools is preferred.
