Description
Assist staff in the daily execution of program tasks and projects, providing administrative support to Program Manager and Program Coordinator. Responsible for maintaining office files, completing purchase and reimbursement requests, as well as managing financial records. Assist with fundraising by researching funding prospects, drafting communication with prospective donors, and managing logistics for fundraising events. Assist with special projects related to program goals and mission. Qualifications

Preferred Experience: We seek a research assistant to support program delivery and evaluation. Ideal candidates are passionate about nutrition, health equity, and community-based prevention. Key qualities include: * Compassionate, clear communication with families * Strong customer service mindset * Proactive problem-solving and follow-up * Quantitative or qualitative research skills and interest in scholarly work The families of Washington DC's Wards 7 and 8 face the city's highest rates of food insecurity and diet-related chronic diseases; ~80% of the city's food deserts exist within Ward 7 (31%) & 8 (51%) alone. The need for healthy food continues to grow as families struggle to provide their children with the building blocks for lifelong health. As such, Children's National Hospital (CNH) is offering a produce prescription and nutrition education program for families who experience food insecurity. The program works in conjunction with 4P Foods, a local food hub, the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, the American Heart Association, and others. We are seeking a research assistant to help with the delivery and evaluation of this produce prescription program. Prior team members who have excelled in this fast-paced position have been genuinely interested in the field of nutrition, health equity, community-based programs, and chronic disease prevention, as well as espoused the below qualities: * highly skilled in compassionate, direct communication with patients and families * commitment to a positive customer service experience * commitment to active problem-solving with timely follow-up and closed loop team communication * quantitative and/or qualitative research skills with a desire to further develop and contribute to scholarly projects Outreach/Research Coordinator Objectives/Duties: 1. Assist with recruitment/enrollment- contact eligible families to discuss program, answer questions, describe program 2. Complete weekly telephone and text message communication and follow-up with participants and external program partners 3. Monitor participant progress through program and report weekly progress metrics at team meetings 4. Track all contacts with participants and report contact outcomes to research program staff 5. Help identify barriers to participation and contribute to creative problem-solving 6. Assist with the design, documentation and delivery of virtual nutrition education curriculum 7. Assist with literature review and data reporting Bi-Lingual in Spanish Highly Preferred Primary Location
