Medical Assistant - Podiatry $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS Our feet make up 25 percent of our body's bones and 18 percent of our joints. Healthy feet are essential to mobility and the way we complete our daily tasks. Although our feet get a substantial part of the wear and tear from our regular activity, and foot pain is highly common, few of us give our feet the care and attention they deserve. Since we walk an average of 100,000 miles over a lifetime, proper foot care is important for everyone. It is especially critical for individuals with diabetes, because circulatory problems associated with that disease can lead to severe infection from unhealed foot wounds. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. Additional Requirements: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation. Additional Information
