As a Lead Application Engineer, you'll not only design and deliver enterprise applications with AI at the core-you'll also guide a team of developers to deliver at speed and quality. You'll set the technical direction, coach teammates, and ensure projects land on time while leveraging Appian's AI features-document processing, natural language search, and generative assistance-to transform how Appian runs its business. What you'll do Lead a team of developers, ensuring fast, high-quality delivery of business-critical applications Build and deploy applications using Appian's platform and AI features to simplify and automate workflows Integrate systems across the business through web APIs Partner with stakeholders to reimagine processes and deliver insights with AI-powered search, summarization, and recommendations Establish and enforce development best practices to scale Appian and AI adoption Support, maintain, and continuously improve business applications in production What we're looking for B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 4+ years of Appian delivery experience Strong track record of leading teams or projects to successful delivery Experience with relational databases, SQL, and API integrations (REST, SOAP, JDBC) Nice to have Experience building GenAI applications Certifications (Appian, ScrumMaster, PMP) Experience with Postgres or MariaDB This is a chance to lead a team building applications that impact every corner of Appian-and to shape how AI is applied at scale inside a leading automation platform.
