Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Site Training Lead for our Fullerton, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

General Summary:

The Site Training Lead is responsible for overseeing new hires and employees in the Howmet training program at their respective location. As part of a team and in collaboration with the Supervisor, oversees and/or conducts training of new or existing employees and is responsible for communicating any challenges or opportunities. The site Trainer is the liaison with the supervisor/manager and training center to ensure the employees training questions are being addressed. The Site Training Lead is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from training program to on site responsibilities. They will educate and monitor all employees in the training program for additional opportunities. When training is not needed, this person will be expected to run a machine

Specific Responsibilities:



  • Reinforce training of current and new employees on machinery in applicable areas, including LTV (Lock,Tag and Verify), Human Performance, 5s, and Autonomous maintenance checks.
  • Makes periodic checks on trainee to ensure the trainee is progressing.
  • Check in with trainee to answer any questions they may have and any additional training opportunities.
  • Coordinate with management and/or supervisor to provide additional training where needed.
  • Participates in training and other activities that are designed to make improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitors employees to ensure they are following safety policies and procedures and also maintains a safe work environment for all of our employees and keeps area neat and clean at all times.
  • Oversees and trains employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ensures on-the-job training and safety training are conducted for employees on methods and equipment used.
  • Fosters a cooperative team-based work environment motivating employees to achieve established goals and growth within the company.
  • Runs machines as required.


Knowledge and Skills:



  • Strong functional knowledge and expertise on machining, as well as excellent teaching and presentation skills. It is important that they are capable of effectively communicating complex technical information.
  • Currently working as a machine operator III or above
  • Must have excellent leadership skills, organizational skills, and a positive personality with strong awareness to diversity in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of company and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 (five) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
