Our Space team in East Aurora, NY is looking for a PWB Design Engineer Associate to join their dynamic team. This role is on first shift (7am-3pm), reporting directly to the Drafting Supervisor in an on-site, collaborative working environment.

As our PWB Design Engineer Associate, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

  • Design and produce final drawings and data including Schematics, Master Pattern (Artwork), PWB, CCA, Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing data, developed and dependent on Schematic input, PWB layout input and 3D/Solid models

  • Participating in the graphical evolution of new products from layout to final drawings including correctness of proportion, visualization, clearance checks, arrangement of components, necessary dimensional information and material and/or process suggestions that can be used directly for manufacturing, assembly and test operations.

  • Working closely with Electronic Packaging Engineering and Electrical Design Engineering helping to develop conceptual layouts for exploring possible design approaches.

  • Evaluating and presenting design alternatives, drawing knowledge from previous designs for incorporation into product and manufacturing ideas.

  • Facilitating meetings with other disciplines to discuss the best approach for either design or fabrication. This interface includes but is not limited to Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Machine Shop and Development Lab.

  • Supporting Engineering, Sales, and Program Management for bid and proposal efforts by providing layouts and assemblies in an expedient manner

To be considered for this PWB Design Engineer Associate role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Associate's degree plus 8-10 years of relevant experience is required; Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering plus 4-6 years of relevant experience is preferred

  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices, including spatial visualization

  • Well-rounded background derived from progression through all facets of PWB Design.

  • Possess above average understanding of electronic circuits, electrical component properties, electronic packaging, PWB and CCA materials, as well comprehensive knowledge of, and the capability to design to the requirements of IPC, Space, Military and Commercial standards and specifications.

  • Advanced experience and knowledge schematic entry and PWB layout/route.

  • Utilization of OrCAD Schematic Entry and Cadence Allegro PWB layout ECAD design software is desirable.

  • Experience using Siemens NX 3D MCAD software or Solidworks is a plus. Knowledge and use of Teamcenter PLM is desirable as well.

  • Working knowledge of configuration management control of product design.

  • Prior experience in the Aerospace industry is highly desired

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$105,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
