Job Summary |
The Assistant Director of National Recruitment leads Auburn University's recruitment and
matriculation efforts on a national scale, focusing on emerging markets and enhancing Auburn's
visibility and reputation. This position involves the design and execution of targeted programming,
data-driven strategy development, and management of staff and territories. The Assistant Director
serves as a key resource for prospective students and families across the country, ensuring a
seamless admissions process while building relationships with
stakeholders to expand Auburn's reach.
Travel & Schedule: This position requires
extensive travel (15-20%), bringing the Auburn experience to communities throughout the region. You'll also need flexibility to work some nights and weekends to connect with students and families when it matters most.

Essential Functions |
Expand Auburn's National Reach - Lead strategic recruitment initiatives to increase Auburn's presence in new and emerging markets across the U.S. Use data-driven insights to analyze national enrollment trends, ensuring Auburn remains competitive and continues to attract top students.
Inspire & Develop a High-Performing Team - Manage and mentor a team of admission advisors, providing training, professional development, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that empowers team members to excel in their recruitment efforts.
Design & Execute Engaging Recruitment Programs - Work closely with the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment to create impactful programs such as information sessions, admitted student events, and high school visits. Ensure all initiatives align with Auburn's institutional priorities and effectively connect with prospective students.
Lead Recruitment Efforts Through Travel & Relationship Building - Travel (15-20%) to key recruitment areas, engaging with students, families, and influential stakeholders. Oversee multiple national territories to ensure comprehensive coverage, effective recruitment strategies, and an exceptional admissions experience.
Shape the Future of Auburn's Student Body - Play an active role in the admissions committee, reviewing applications and making informed recommendations to enroll students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership, and potential.
Leverage Data to Drive Success - Utilize Slate and other data tools to track recruitment funnel performance, identify trends, and optimize recruitment strategies. Ensure territory management and enrollment goals are met through data-driven decision-making.
Strengthen Auburn's Reputation on a National Scale - Build strategic partnerships with high schools, counselors, alumni, and key organizations to expand Auburn's influence, increase applications, and enhance brand recognition in national markets.

- Managing recruitment territories and implementing strategic outreach initiatives to support undergraduate enrollment goals.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with prospective students, families, secondary school counselors, and stakeholders on a national level.
- Planning and executing large-scale recruitment events, high school visits, college fairs, and yield programming.
- Utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, such as Slate, for student outreach, communications, and data management.
- Analyzing enrollment trends and data to inform recruitment strategies and territory management.
- Supervising, mentoring, or providing professional development to recruitment staff or student employees.
- Representing an institution professionally through public speaking engagements, presentations, and information sessions.
- Collaborating with campus partners, alumni, and external stakeholders to support student recruitment efforts.
