The Corporate Business Office is seeking a dynamic and talented Manager - Revenue Cycle - Patient Access.

The Revenue Cycle Manager of Patient Access is responsible for maintaining and supporting the processes and technology related to scheduling, registration, financial clearance, financial counseling, and other pre-service functions; managing a team of analysts to support Patient Access workflows and systems; and acting as a liaison to hospital-based managers and staff, vendor partners, information systems and finance teams, and other stakeholders. The Revenue Cycle Manager of Patient Access coordinates and provides training and education, champions performance improvement initiatives, communicates and escalates key performance indicators and metrics, and works closely with technology vendors to support smooth Registration and Financial Clearance patient flows. The Manager supports the Director of Patient Access in providing governance for hospital-based and centralized Patient Access functions to optimize patient flow, enhance customer service, reduce barriers to care, and maintain compliance with federal and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provides revenue cycle governance and expertise while working collaboratively with facilities, central business offices, and others to establish standards and processes for efficient patient flow, maximum revenue capture and cash collections, and continuous improvement
  • Manages a team of staff providing training, education, governance, and support to facilities and centralized functions performing scheduling, registration, and financial clearance focused on improving KPIs and financial metrics
  • Oversees vendors providing support services related to patient access functions, including government payer eligibility, insurance verification, etc.
  • Leads system implementations and process reengineering initiatives for multiple Acute Care facilities simultaneously
  • Leads multiple projects to increase revenue capture and cash collections through process automation and optimization, advanced analytics, and new technology implementation

Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 8-10 years of related experience requried. Significant Revenue Cycle experience (i.e., 5+ years in addition to the minimum) might be accepted in lieu of certain college education requirements.
  • A Revenue Cycle Manager must possess extensive knowledge of both healthcare revenue systems and operations, including specific and extensive experience with revenue cycle operations.
  • The Manager must have a good understanding of all facets of Patient Access, including scheduling, registration, and financial clearance.
  • The Manager should have significant knowledge of industry regulations and requirements, including the Affordable Care Act, High Deductible Plans, Patient Friendly Billing, Price Transparency, etc.; and experience using data and analytics to support process improvement initiatives; managing a team of department managers and staff, and coordinating system implementations and process reengineering with diverse stakeholders.
  • A qualified candidate should have strong professional written and verbal communication skills, proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
