Job Description

Are you passionate about the future of stablecoin payments and driven by opportunities to scale new products and businesses? As a Senior Director of Business Development on the Visa Crypto team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities for large and complex partnerships. This role requires an experienced sales and account management professional who can identify potential deals, develop the tactics, and manage the teams needed to bring to fruition. The crypto business development team works closely with Visa's crypto product team, growth partnership team, risk, legal, and finance to execute partnership agreements and deliverables that are typically highly complex, strategic, and cross-functional in nature.

Segment Expertise:

Support the crypto product team in developing the overall company strategy, specifically for payment enablers and digital commerce platforms

Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through strong understanding of the payment enabler segment and customer's business needs, leveraging Visa's crypto solutions to solve client problems

Continuously review market landscape, identifying developing partnership or acquisition opportunities that will position Visa as a market leader

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building new revenue streams for Visa while delivering tailored crypto solutions for a wide variety of Visa's partners including big techs, fintechs, payment enablers, and infrastructure providers.

  • Scaling emerging crypto and stablecoin product lines from initial proofof concept through go-to-market execution that spans pricing, strategy, deal structuring, and client support.

  • Working with cross functional teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan

  • Proactively identifying and solving complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business

  • Serving as a subject matter expert internally and externally, leading training for internal teams and articulating Visa's position on crypto and stablecoins to our clients and partners

  • Reporting to and interacting with senior management and executives to indicate the status of the partnership progress

  • Fostering in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Corporate strategy, financial services, crypto, or payments industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery
  • Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership with subject matter explain in stablecoins and blockchain technology
  • Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example
  • Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
  • Experience managing up, building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations
  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
  • Executive presence, Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations
  • Previous experience in an operating role at a startup or high growth company preferred
Additional Information

Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 204,500.00 to 296,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
