Job Description

As an Onchain Data Analyst on the Visa Crypto Product Team, you will work to unlock understanding across VisaNet and public blockchain data. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert on the intersection of blockchains and payments. This will require an understanding of traditional and blockchain based payment solutions, and an ability to analyze large data sets to discover insights to both track developments and identify opportunity for improving the payment experience. This position requires strong analytical abilities. An ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to handle complex data sets and manage ambiguous situations with nuance.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and support the analytical technologies that give our team timely, flexible, and structured access to data.

  • Prepare and present rich blockchain centric analytics across the Visa Crypto Team and broader Visa organization, including dashboards, presentations, and emails.

  • Drive and publish research briefs for Visa Crypto on trends seen in blockchain data and the crypto industry broadly.

  • Keep up with industry research and regularly share data-driven insights when possible.

  • Determine courses of action for crypto data initiatives and cross-client goals, working cross-functionality with groups like legal, compliance, privacy, product, and business development.

  • Stay current with crypto industry and client trends and maintain a working knowledge of Visa products and services.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL/Python and data visualization software tools, such as Hex, a requirement with a preference for an individual with experience in querying public blockchain data (Dune, Allium, Artemis etc...).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including experience meeting with and communicating information to senior leadership.
  • Ability to think strategically, formulate appropriate analytical solutions, and execute in order to solve business needs.
  • Self-starter with strong passion for learning about the intersection of crypto and payments. Ability to work solve ambiguous problems through storytelling and data.
Additional Information

Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 117,600.00 to 166,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
