Job Overview: The medical assistant will support healthcare providers by performing a combination of administrative and clinical tasks, This role is essential for ensuring that the medical facility operates efficiently and that patients receive high-quality care. Qualification Required: - High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred, - Certification as a medical assistant is required, - Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices, - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, - Proficient in using electronic health record systems, - Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, Preferred: Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):
Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions): - Part-Time -Day -16 Hours Essential Functions: - Schedule and confirm patient appointments, - Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories, - Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures if needed, - Maintain and update patient records in accordance with privacy regulations, - Schedule procedures and obtain prior authorizations - Educate patients on medication instrictions and follow-up care, - Familiar with EKG's and POC testing A1C, urinalysis, etc, - Ensure medical equipment and examination rooms are clean and properly stocked, - Manage phone calls and respond to patient inquiries, Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to supports our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
